What do you think the lyrics to “Through The Glass” by Stone Sour mean (you can read them below)?
I’m looking at you through the glass
Don’t know how much time has passed
Oh God it feels like forever
But no one ever tells you that forever feels like home,
sitting all alone inside your head
How do you feel? that is the question
But I forget you don’t expect an easy answer
When something like a soul becomes initialized
And folded up like paper dolls and little notes
You can’t expect a bit of hope
So while you’re outside looking in,
describing what you see
Remember what you’re staring at is me
Cause I’m looking at you through the glass
Don’t know how much time has passed
All I know is that it feels like forever
But no one ever tells you that forever feels like home,
sitting all alone inside your head
How much is real, so much to question
An epidemic of the mannequins
contaminating everything
We thought came from the heart,
But never did right from the start
Just listen to the noises (no more sad voices)
Before you tell yourself
It’s just a different scene
Remember its just different from what you’ve seen.
I’m looking at you through the glass
Don’t know how much time has passed
And all I know is that it feels like forever
But no one ever tells you that forever feels like home,
sitting all alone inside your head
Cause I’m looking at you through the glass
Don’t know how much time has passed
And all I know is that it feels like forever
But no one ever tells you that forever feels like home,
sitting all alone inside your head
And it’s the stars
The stars that shine for you
And it’s the stars
The stars that lie to you
I’m looking at you through the glass
Don’t know how much time has passed
oh god it feels like forever
But no one ever tells you that forever feels like home,
sitting all alone inside your head
Cause I’m looking at you through the glass
Don’t know how much time has passed
And all I know is that it feels like forever
But no one ever tells you that forever feels like home,
sitting all alone inside your head
And it’s the stars
The stars that shine for you
And it’s the stars
The stars that lie to you
And it’s the stars
The stars that shine for you
And it’s the stars
The stars that lie to you
Who are the stars?
Who are the stars?
They lie?

i think it sounds like someone is being watched by their inner self as they find more things they dont like about themselves and is being more distant from what they used to be

the lyrics in the song thru glass is talking about how people these days are fake and how they are always trying to impress others and worrying about others might think if they do something there own way

I think they are talking about the feeling that everyone is looking at you under a microscope. That people use the lives of others to compare you to and judge you. They are saying that we don’t really distinguish between the lives of celebrities and the lives of characters in Hollywood and we feel like to be normal we have to be like them. We judge others based on a Hollywood facade. But they question how realistic it is. I think they’re saying that people get so obsessed with this Hollywood glamor that they become lost in it, that they become so familiarized with it, they loose themselves in it and become more comfortable there than in reality.
