Need defination for glass ceiling, glass walls or glass escalator?

The Glass ceiling is a phrase for women in the workforce. Basically what it comes down to, is in theory women can work but there is a “glass ceiling” that they can not go above for higher positions in a company, It is considered “glass” because it is an invisible barrier that women can’t cross and is unspoken. The reason for this barrier is because men still dominate the top positions in the work force and still want men to run it. Try watching “Working Girl” with Melanie Griffith and Harrison Ford, it kinda explains it. Although the movie does show a woman in a higher position, there is a special scene where she is using her sexuality to keep her position, not her intelligence like she should.
