Is it neccesary to use a coaster when you are drinking out of a wine glass?
We have a coffee table in the living room and we like to drink while watching TV. We use coasters for coffee, juice, and every other drink that is served in a regular glass, but when it comes to wine, in a wine glass, i think we dont need one, while my partner insist on placing a coaster. is it really neccesary?

no- the purpose of coasters is to catch any sweat from your glass, but since wine glasses have stems, the sweat doesn’t reach the table. coasters are for casual- wine is serious.

Not really unless you put ice in it.

if the glass sweats yes.. it will leave white rings if you don’t

the condensation from the ball of the glass could drip down to the coffee table, but if your wine glass is oversized, the coaster may not catch the condensation (assuming that you are drinking chilled white wine). If you are drinking red wine and don’t plan on spilling any, you probably don’t need a coaster

Not really cuz it is raised up so the moister doesn’t go to the table plus… who drinks wine with ice?

From what i know wine glasses don’t “sweat” like other cups/glasses do, so I say the answer is no!
