I stood on some broken glass and cut my foot very badly, this was a week and a bit ago. i have been cleaning it regularly and can’t feel glass when i go around the cut with a needle, the area around the cut is puffy though, however its not red or infected looking. do you think there is glass in it? i’m scared of the doc and don’t want to go. i can’t walk on my foot and have to limp around everywhere, its not enjoyable. any help would be super. i have been putting on a cream called crystacide and those stick on stiches. thank you!
ok well about 2 weeks ago i stepped on a peice of glass. I went to my bathroom put it over my bath tub and got all the blood away from the glass and pulled it out with eyebrow clipers and i washed it out and put a bandaid on it and now i look at it and theres this tiny hole in my foot and it sorta hurts but im pretty sure i got it out cuz it was just kinda a big peice but do you think i should see a doctor? i got my shots this year to go in middle school.
2 days ago I got a small piece of glass in my foot (just a sliver) .Its right on the ball of my feet so I am always walking on it, this area is also VERY caloused. It is not protruding through the outside of my skin so i cant see it or take it out like that. The area isnt red yet, but it is quite painful. How can I get it out?
I stepped on some glass a few days ago and assumed it fell out on its own when I couldn’t find it after digging for a few minutes. Today it caused me some slight pain, but not in the puncture area. It only hurts if pressure is applied at the right angle and in the right location (about 1/2″ from wound). Is this normal?
My 20 month old stepped on glass. I used tweezers and got a piece out. I cleaned it and bandaged it. A day after i noticed it bleeding a little bit (nothing to freak out about) could there still be glass in it? How can i tell? And what should i do to be sure? (go to doctors?)
thank you

Please see a doctor, you cannot rely on home remidies. It is sometimes scary to see a doc, but you really should unless you want to possiblly loose your foot

You really should go to the doctor, especially if it is deep cut. If you insist on not going, your foot may heal with glass inside it or get infected.
If you continue to keep it clean, closed and covered, you may do OK, but I strongly urge you to see a doctor.

Its best to go to the doctor. Theres a good chance theres still fragments of the glass in there and if you leave it too long it can get really bad and they might have to amputate. Flushing it out with salt water helps fight infection. If it stings when you flush it out its infected and you will have to go see the doctor. They clean it out and will give you anti-biotics

Sorry this does sound like its infected I know you don’t like docs but you need to go to the emergency room now before it gets worse and then they will have to admit you if you wait . Yo can call your local ER and ask them what they think you should do they might even say you don’t need to come in but can tell you what to do. Hope this helps and good luck!!

An X-ray would actually be ineffective as you cannot see glass on an x-ray. But I am having the same problem. I got glass in my foot about 3-4 weeks ago. It hurts a lot all the time now and is puffy around the incision. It almost seems as if its cutting me from the inside out, because there is blood under the skin and the outside is healed. Think I’ll be making a trip to the ER for waiting so long. Good luck

You know, it’s gonna be a lot better if you see a doctor. There is the possibility of infection, which can cause a lot of issues. If it got seriously infected, they could have to amputate… so I would say going to the doctor is probably a lot less scary. Worst case right now you could have an infection, but probably not that bad. It’s going to be a lot better if you see a doctor about it ASAP.
