Cans or Bottles?.. Plastic or Glass?.. Paper or Plastic? All these choices..what do you chose?
With the environment being overloaded with trash that can not be recycled..
Do you think before you purchase, do you choose the waste of tomorrow?.. Or do you have another view or why you choose what you choose?
Does an item taste different if it comes from bottle or can?.. The same as for Plastic and glass.. is it taste that influences you?..
And the biggie: What do you support Plastic or Paper being used to take it all home with?

That depends on what kind of things to be put in it. In case that it is solid, that I will have no objection since the taste itself seems same.
but if an liquid item is put in plastic or paper, the taste is sometimes different, i experiences some.

good question. but all of those could be recycled excepted perhaps for plastic bags. practically all supermarkets just pack everything up with a plastic bag so I have no choice.

actually, i haven’t given it much thought; and your question somewhat helped me realize how much we neglect our environment’s current situation.
as for the choices, i think i’ll have to do more research about it. i’d choose whichever is more safe for the environment.
and for the person who answered before me:
though all of those can be recycled, the recycling process for some of those can be harmful to the environment. not to mention the high costs for recycling.

General rule of thumb:Better enviro. practice= use what can be reused & recycled. -also, only things that can biodegrade…Thanks for caring!!!!!

I’d rather drink from a bottle, I don’t know why but I just think it does taste better out of a bottle, I choose plastic not glass, and I’m glad you brought this up, it’ll make me think more now, because to be honest I don’t do anything to support the environment but I will start trying and thinking about it…God bless

Glass and paper. We recycle the glass, and I use paper grocery bags for trash can liners in our little waste baskets, I cut them open and my daughter and I use them for art projects, I pack our road trip food in them, you get the idea. . .

I always think about the ecological impact before I make a purchase. I buy in bulk as much as possible, and use my own glass containers whenever I can. I prefer glass containers to plastic or metal for two reasons: 1) glass, unlike plastic and metal, is non-reactive, so there’s no transfer of either toxins or taste; and 2) glass manufacturing has less of an impact on the environment than plastic and metal manufacturing. I always bring my own canvas bags whenever I go shopping, and never use either the paper or plastic bags at any store. I also haven’t purchased plastic garbage bags for almost ten years — I use plastic grocery bags that my neighbors and family are happy to recycle my way.

Plastic..I eat on Plastic I only drink out of plastic..something about pepsi in plastic..but I choose paper for groceries..I would rather get them home in one peice and recycle the paper wrapping for E-bay!
As far as enviroment issues..never give it a second thought..

I have to admit that I am not much of an environmentalist – I do not really make my choices based on what is good for the environment However I will say that once I select a particular product I am fairly environmentally responsible … For example we do recycle all bottles (plastic or glass) cans and paper that we use. At the super market, I very rarely make a special request for paper bags and ususally just use the plastic that they give me. Perhaps they should put handles on the paper bags. I think they would be more useful that way.
However I will also say that I almost always find an alternate use for my plastic grocery bag though. Doggie doo picker upper, lunch bag (though not necessarily in that order of course), wet towel holder at the gym, garbage bag for small bathroom cans etc….
As for bottle or cans – If given the opportunity I strongly prefer my beer out of the bottle (and a glass one at that). I really am not a beer can kind of guy. Though this makes much less of an environmental impact now than in my college days. Definitely tastes better that way.

I ask for paper bags for my groceries. When I get home, they are folded neatly and saved for many of the uses I find for them.
I have heard that soda tastes better from glass bottles but since I don’t like to drink soda I really can’t judge that one.
When choosing ANYTHING in a container I think of the recycle or reuse value of the product. Especially plastic containers. It has to have a 1 or 2 recycle value or it is not worth my money.
I save all my glass containers and reuse them or recycle.
When my kids were babies I opted to use and wash my own cotton diapers. This is when I started realizing how much of our earth used as a dumping ground for everything we put in our garbage cans. It was eye opening.
If you seriously don’t throw out anything that is recyclable in the trash, you are left with 1/4 of your household garbage. Or even less, if you have a compost pile or bin.
Yup! That means that 3/4 of what you toss into the garbage is recyclable.
With all of that said, I do still get ice tea from a drive-thru and the cup, lid and straw always end up in the garbage. Oh well. No one is perfect.

CANS AND BOTTLES…. USUALLY PLASTIC…ABOUT HALF AND HALF ON THE PAPER OR PLASTIC. WHEN WE GET PAPER BAGS I USE THEM TO PUT THE RECYCLED TRASH IN…I THINK DRINKS MIGHT TASTE A LITTLE BETTER IN GLASS THEN CAN, BUT I HAVE NO REAL PREFERENCE
