Why does Coke a Cola taste so good in those glass bottles. Is it just me?
Coke in the glass bottle taste better than coke in the can or in plastic. I think im addicted to it. And why can i only find it in a mexican restaraunt or grocery store?

Thats so true!!! The cans are probably “leaking” aluminium, so we all got poisoning

the plastic taste doesn’t leech into your pop that way………..plus when you put peanuts in they’ll come back out easier (if you haven’t tried it do, drink a swig from the bottle fill with peanuts, and “drink ” them back out, there’s something about coke and the salt from the nuts thats fantastic)

YEAH! All pop (or soda if you prefer) tastes better out of the bottle.
Maybe because you can see it through the glass, and you anticipate the taste. Or maybe glass doesn’t give pop that metallic or plastic taste.
Yeah, it’s hard to find. I always find it at holes in the wall. Probably because it is more expensive to distribute glass and Coke sucks for withholding it.

I’m a PEPSI person myself but if I come across a Coke in a glass bottle, I’ll get it in a heartbeat. It’s weird how the taste is different huh…

which just goes to show that presentation makes ALOT of difference on the entire taste! the old fashioned coke glass bottles somehow just manage to tantalise your tastebuds tad bit more than the cans, don’t they!

its a mental thing. My friend did an experiment on this in like 8th grade or something and he blindfolded us and has us take a sip of from the can from the bottle and people who said they liked it from the can better before said the bottled tasted better and the same was true for the people who said they liked it better from the bottle before liked it from the can after

Because glass doesn’t leave any of it’s own flavor in the cola.
I agree it tastes much better in glass, but all there is in my stores is plastic bottles and cans, so choice isn’t even available.

Yes it does taste better in a glass bottle!
Glass is a more inert material than metal (even coated metal). There is more chance that something in the metal can affect the taste. And anyway, glass doesn?t seem to have a taste or odour, while metals (alumnimum, iron, etc.) seem to have some distinctive flavour to our senses.

it tastes better (in America) because the glass bottles are from Mexico where they don’t put high fructose corn syrup in the coke.

There are 2 big reasons.
1) The glass bottled Cokes use CANE SUGAR instead of high fructose corn syrup. So the drink alone already tastes different.
2) Plus, the glass bottle doesn’t have a taste, whereas aluminum adds a metallic taste.

The coke in bottles is from Mexico. In Mexico they use REAL sugar to sweeten the coke.

Wow, I somehow found myself on this webpage, and im glad I did. The difference between the cans and the bottles is that the bottles are Coca Cola made in Mexico and is imported to America. Cans are Coca Cola made in America. So how does that change anything? Mexico makes its Coca Cola with real sugar. American made Coca Cola uses Corn Syrup, which does not taste as good and is more unhealthy. That is why you like the bottled version of Coca Cola better.

Yeah it’s better in a glass bottle. I’m drinking out of one right now. They sell them at my local grocery store, and I’m very glad they are. Glass bottles for the win!
