I would go to the trouble to take it in to a glass sales/repair outlet and let them cut it to the exact size for you. It’s not that expensive to have it done right.

search for a glass and mirror supplier in your area…some may have scrap pieces that they will cut to fit for little or nothing

Check for window or glass companies near Columbus.
They often have the beveled glass that has the angled cuts at the edges.

Look in your yellow pages for glass companies. Someone such as Binswanger Glass could cut a piece to fit. If it is a specialty type of glass, they may need to order it.

Your area should have a lot of window and glass places check the yellow pages. You can put a sheet of tempered glass usually right at the counter.

As another mentioned, get “tempered” glass. It may be a bit more expensive but it won’t break as easy a regular glass will. And be sure to get it as thick as you table will allow. The heavier the glass the less likely breakage will occur if something is to drop on it or a cup or glass falls over.

About Me
ALES LOMBERGAR is one of the few artisans in Europe who still practice the ancient art of glass acid etching which flourished in the late 19th century. Decorations are applied with resin resists by hand and then exposed to acid baths, with no machinery used. More information here.
