” Sea glass or beach glass is glass that have been sculpted by the wind, waves, and sand into smooth, elegant forms. It is extremely popular for craft work, filling jars, wedding decoration, flower arranging in vases, and more”.
sea glass or beach glass is broken glass bottles from people bringing them to the beach and they break up and get sanded and shaped around from the sand and waves. they end up looking like pieces of glass that aren’t sharrp and are smoothed down. they usually are green. look for them at a beach next time.

Sea glass is sand that has been struck by lightning. It can come in a variety of colors–depending on what all is melted together-sand, shells, organic matter can all create a variety of colors. It appears frosted-not clear like bottle glass but frosted glass from being rubbed and worn from the water. I have quite a few pieces myself, in a variety of colors (blue, green, yellow, pink, clear). I wasn’t aware of what it was until someone on the beach told me about it a few years ago and since then I’ve found all kinds! The darker green, brown, or crystal clear pieces you find are actually human made glass. You’ll be able to tell the difference when you see a piece by the look and texture of it.

Sea-glass is peices of glass found on the surf that have been rolled in and out over the rocks and sand by the surf. It makes the glass rounded, smooth and pitted from the sand.

ALES LOMBERGAR is one of the few artisans in Europe who still practice the ancient art of glass acid etching which flourished in the late 19th century. Decorations are applied with resin resists by hand and then exposed to acid baths, with no machinery used. More information here.
