What do you think about Glass french doors on a bedroom?
There is a bedroom in a friends basement and they are putting in glass french doors to allow for natural light b/c there are no windows in the room. I personally think that they should be solid, allowing for more privacy.

I have always wanted french doors from my own bedroom to the outdoors. He can always install full-length blinds and/or drapes for privacy.

I think that sounds nice. They can put big curtain drape things up so they can open and close when they want. Because It probably would be VERy dark wihtout them also.

most guests would feel more comfortable with solid doors, I think, but as long as they put up blinds or curtains over the glass, then I think it will be ok.

I think that would be quite classy and nice…. of course they’d need some curtains for the more intimate bedroom moments but its no differnt than getting a window put in.

I’d probably say frost the glass up to about 5 or 6 feet, or put up window decorations that make it look like stain glass. That way, you still have light, but you get privacy too.

I think French doors on a bedroom is beautiful & a great way to allow for natural lighting. However, privacy needs to be addressed, and can be solved by adding some semi-transparant sheer window treatments to the inside of the doors. These can be drawn back when natural lighting is required and dropped down for privacy.

That is a wonderful idea to make the room much more inhabitable. They could always install an openable curtain to provide the privacy. Looking out on a garden or a view will make the space much more appealing. Air and light is important, and it is great to be able to walk outside when you want to.
