want to etch groomsman gifts- Das boots and thought this would be cheaper than paying $6 a word at the mall!

they sell glass etching kits, which are fairly easy and straightforward to use if you follow the directions - but beware that glass etching does involve the use of caustic chemicals which could potentially lead to a very painful chemical burn if you are not careful, even in dilute concentrations.
