Is there an easy way I can tell if an object is glass, ceramic or plastic?
I can tap the object on my teeth and sometimes tell but some plastics are very hard and feel like glass and I can never tell the difference between glass and ceramic.

Boy, you ask a tough question. About the only way I know is hardness. Ceramics and glass are harder than steel so if you can scratch the surface with a knife, it is plastic is about the only way I know of.

I would just say touch it. It’s pretty simple to tell the difference between the three, especially plastic. Another measure is the weight, plastic being the lightest and ceramic being the heaviest.
Plastic – won’t feel cool to the touch, lightweight, sticky, won’t hold heat
Glass – will feel cool to the touch, heavier, smooth, will hold heat
Ceramic – will feel frigid to the touch, heavy, tacky, will conduce heat
