Is the glass placed in front of the PC monitor effective?
I do not know if the glass that was placed in front of the PC monitor effective to protect our eyes. What are the proofs that it is effective to protect our eyes?

It just acts like sunglasses really, not very effective if ur using a tft or lcd monitor.

well just like u were coolers wen u r out in the sun the glass protects the bad rays emited by the computer from reaching and spoiling eyesight!

it does so.but not much…its just darked coloured glass which restricts bhright rays, and various high frequencies rays which have more penetrating power. hence it only blocks bhright light from hurting your eyes

Protect your eyes from what?
The only significant radiation a monitor gives of is in the 400 nm to 700 nm range. That would be visible light, and it is designed to do that.
For a LCD, the glass on the front is mainly there to:
Put the coloured filters on.
Hold the liquid crystal in place.
For a CRT the glass is there to:
Hold the phosphors in place.
Stop air getting into the CRT.
Never mind what proof that it protects your eyes, what proof do you have that a monitor produces anything that would damage your eyes?
