How to remove glue from a glass jar and lid?
I purchased two glass jars from a model home furniture company. They are glued shut. The outside appears to be rubber cement. Got that off, but they must have put glue on the lid which I cannot get to

Try WD-40 – it’s wonderful stuff!! Other than that you can try a product called goo gone – it works good too. If nothing else try heating it up with a heat gun-use oven mitts to do this!

Just add heat, use a blow dryer or dip the lid in really hot water for about 2-3 seconds. Good luck! The best bet is the blow dryer though.

POUR BOILING HOT WATER TO MELT OR SOFTEN UP THE GLUE.

try soaking the lid/jar in some kind of solvent (alcohol, gasoline, paint remover). It won’t harm the lid (it is metal, right) or the glass, but should dissolve any glue. If the lid is plastic, the solvent will probably melt it.

Boil water and soak the jar in it for a long time – refresh the water when it gets cold (to prevent cracking, before you do this, run the jars under water that gets gradually warmer)

If you have any WD-40 you may try that. Let soak as best you can. Over night or more if in no hurry.

Lamp oil like what you put in your Alladin type lamps. $3 a near gallon at the Dollar stores.
