How to clean very tough water stain on a glass when all cleaning product has failed (vinegar and muriatic)?
I’ve tried soaking the aquarium with vinegar and muriatic acid for a day with no luck. Even household mold and mildew cleaner don’t work. Need help with a way to clean the aquarium glass.
Thx.

I would avoid any chemical cleaners since it will stay in the glass and could kill any future fishy residents.
Try a glass scraper or razor scraper, then some baking soda/water paste and scrub with a scrubbie sponge to soften, then use the razor again until it comes off.
Make sure to thouroughly rinse the tank out so the fish don’t die when you put them in.
Good luck!

You could try CLR. Then rinse, rinse, rinse (until you would be willing to drink out of it) or your little friends will be floaters.
CLR has taken off hard water stains, on taps, very easily for me. I’m pretty sure it would work for glass too.

I would stick with the vinegar w/o muriatic acid. Wet down a cloth in vinegar and put it on the stain. Let it soak that way for awhile and then use a blade or a scrubbing pad to scrape it while it’s wet. It’ll take some elbow grease for sure. You don’t want to use harsh chemicals in the tank.

I’ve used SOS pads. When i fill the tank again i have it set up for 5 days before i put fish. Just rinse very well. I’ve never had any problems.
