How do you get pictures unstuck from the glass in the frame?
my only antique pic of my daughter is stuck to the glass in the frame- how do I get it out w/o hurting the pic?

This is actually MUCH more complicated than it appears.
The problem with dampening the photo is the emulsion becomes soft and needs to be re-hardened with photo-fix. Even if you are able to self-liberate the photo from the glass the photo will not last long without a fixative bath.
Take the piece to a professional photolab and speak with an archivist.

it depends on how badly it is stuck, but what I have tried and has worked for me is to take a damp (not wet) towel and place it on the glass and then place a warm iron on it and heat it through, (not too hot, just warm) check the picture every few seconds

I have not tried this myself, but it’s an idea. Try using steam it seems to work to unstick other things. Before you do this though i would call a photo shop and maybe ask for their advice. I would hate for you to ruin your picture. Maybe just leave it in the same frame?
