How Do I increase the humidity in my wooden and plexi-glass cages?
I have a Burmese and a Ball Python (House seperately), But I need to raise the humidity quite a bit. How do I do so?
(I heard putting a small plant intot he cage and watering it helps….. and also useing a spray bottle…… or setting a non-spillable glass of water in the cage..)
any other suggestions?

Put water in a large dog food bowl or cat litter box. They won’t leak or spill. Depending on the sizes of the snakes, they should be big enough for the snakes to completely submerge if they want.
If the snakes are really large there are kiddie pools or the plastic containers for mixing cement (look for them at Home Depot), and Rubbermaid containers (cheap at Target).
The large surface area of the water increases humidity nicely. And it’s good for the snakes too.

The best thing to do to a snake is to put them to sleep if it was meant to keep snakes in the house they would have legs on them.Snakes need to be out side then you not need to worrier about humidity but sense these snakes did not come from here you cant put them out alive.

I use handfuls of reptile moss, you can wet it down like a sponge and lay it in the cage. As it drys out it will keep the humidity high in the cage. You can keep re-wetting it also. Go to the pet store and get a Mist’r Lizard. They sell two kinds, one that you use like a mister bottle, and one that you can set up to make a mist in the cage that lasts a while. I have the Mist’r Lizard Jr., it makes it real easy to spray the whole cage down.

First, I think I’d get an all glass house for them. We have a Brazilian Rainbow Boa who needs 85% humidity, which we can achieve using a fogger. We order ours from http://www.bigappleherpetilogical.com. I just think the wood will mold if you really get the needed humidity. Although, I didn’t think Pythons needed as much as a Rainbow, so maybe the moss will work.
Or, get some coconut husk bedding and keep it moist, turning it over a few times a month.
Best Wishes!!

you can buy a mister, or take a spray bottle (like windex except if windex was ever used in it or any other cleaning thing it is deadly) and spray the inside of the tank in the morning. also, leave out some warm water, so when it evaporates it will be humid.
