I used to use a wet scourer when the glass was still a little warm, then throw the scourer into the ashes. You could try vinegar on the scourer, it’s excellent for glass cleaning.

Try using regular dish soap. Put some dish soap on the glass and let it sit for awhile and then clean it off. After you get the most of the stuff off, then try using some glass cleaner.

About Me
ALES LOMBERGAR is one of the few artisans in Europe who still practice the ancient art of glass acid etching which flourished in the late 19th century. Decorations are applied with resin resists by hand and then exposed to acid baths, with no machinery used. More information here.
