I would not attach it permanently. I would make supports with silicone rubber(silicone caulk). Make little spots like Hershey Kisses then flatten them with wax paper, allow time to cure, about 24 hours then set your glass on top. That will allow an airspace underneath and be flexible enough for the glass to be stable. The spacing should be determined by the thickness of the glass.
