Glass half empty half full?

We all know the addage that if you see the glass half full you are optomistic and if you see it half empty you are pessimistic. What if you just see a glass of water? Does that make you indifferent? Thoughts?

The fact that you only see a glass of water just states that things are as they are and being optimistic or pessimistic does not change the situation.

If you are busy emptying the glass, it would be half empty
If you are busy filling the glass , it would be half full
One who sees it like this might be an optimistic pessimist, or a pessimistic optimist ?

If it is empty and you fill half, it’s half-full. If it is full and you drink half, it’s half-empty.

If it contains liquor of any sort, half empty, because it needs to be filled.
If it contains anything other than liquor, half full, because putting it in that light makes it less likely to be filled, which is good, because filling it is obviously not a priority since it doesn’t contain anything good (liquor) anyway.
