Found glass in my food, what now?

I got a shard of glass 5 bites into my tv-dinner…I kept everything, but what do I do now?
Who do I call first?

Call the company first and explain what happened. If you were not injured, give up the idea of a lawsuit. It’s a slim chance it would happen in another tv dinner but when you call the company if I were you, I would ask for a reimbursement for the money lost either by check or coupons for free meals from them.

Don’t eat it! Write to the company. They will usually ask for proof, and they will usually deny everything, but you might get a few coupons out of it. If you want serious money, contact a lawyer, but make sure the lawyer doesn’t get paid unless you do. It seperates the wheat from the chaff you might say.

i got a few wood chips in a package of frozen raviolis once all they do is send you coupons, but if you found glass in it i dont know how much you want coupons for it, but thats probably all they would do, and theres probably a number to call on the box

there is a question and comment number on the box call it and go from there. otherwise look up the number to the fda and go from there. good thing you noticed it

if you call they wont belive you but if you have gotten hurt in any way and have records to prove it then go for it

Take a photo of it first so it is time stamped, then call the company and ask what they are willing to do and what could of happened if you hadn’t seen it and just ate it.

Chances are they will send you some coupons etc with an appology at this stage but if they even refuse that then contact you local food standards agency and they will take it on for you, they would much rather just send you coupons anyway rather than taking a risk that could cost them so much more and damage there reputation if you went to the press.

You will 100% get at least some coupons and products from them.

Don’t let them get away with it to many people do and someone could get seriously hurt.

To Slightly Bitter,
yeah I really did just chomp on a piece of glass that was in my chili. I wasn’t sure what to do so I went online and saw this website. Just wanted to say I hope your bitterness won’t come back to you and bite you in the ass later in your life but if does it definitely wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world I’m sure. Also, if all you have are negative words to offer then maybe next time you should keep your mouth shut and get a life. If I were you I would try for a life that doesn’t involve being such an a a hole.

I found a piece of glass in my twisted tea. When I googled what to do, I came here. It really bothers me that all the comments say that NO ONE WILL BELIEVE YOU, AND NEITHER DO I YOU LYING, UNEMPLOYED, SCURVY PIECE OF HUMAN FILTH! Or basically that. Because I really did, and it’s very odd, like I feel I have to defend myself out of the gate, it’s not my fault, dang.
