what im talking about is that etch cream or spray is intended for glass. can it 'etch anything else such as wood or tiles or plastic?

is their anything that can etch tiles? if their is please lemme know the product name

I think that cream will work on tiles because it says on the bottle to make sure you rinse down your sink if you get any on. Actually it probably etches the glaze off the tile,But not sure

Etching cream or spray contains an acid that burns off a layer of glass leaving behind a 'scarring' which is the 'etch' itself. Therefore, it will also work on ceramic tiles by burning off a layer or two of the coated surface. However, it does not work on wood. It may work on Plexiglas (plastic) but I doubt it because it would tend to melt it rather than burn off a coating.

Most etching products will etch darn near anything. You need to know the active ingredient. Hydrofluoric acid is so active, it is stored in wax containers.
