Does taking pills without a glass of water effect the effectiveness of the pill?
I take several medications and I often take them dry, or without using water to swallow them. Does this method of taking pills undermine their effects? Is it better to wash your pills down with a glass of water, or does it not really matter?

Wash them down with water otherwise they may get stuck & begin to dissolve in your esophagus. Some meds can be really damaging to the esophageal lining…like Fosamax for instance.

it gets to work faster and delays the effect that has already started on your brain

I think it would be better to just find some water and be safe. Some pills like ibuprofen or aspirin are very acidic and could burn your esophagus if it gets stuck.

Pills are designed to be swallowed with water, however not doing so should not effect their results, if you have any real doubts you should check with your GP!! Be careful if you are breaking up the pill as this may effect how they work…… Good Luck.

most pills work at maximum efficiency with two or three 8 ounce glasses of water. The reason for this is when the medication is dissolved in the water, it is easier for your body to digest and several pills require a large amount of hydratioin to effectively work.
