Does anyone know what those purple looking glass cubes that are found on sidewalks in L.A. called?

These cubes are made of glass and sometimes you can see through them. They are found all throughout Downtown Los Angeles… If anyone knows any street maintenance people, or knows the answer, i’d be very grateful :-)
