Many glass companys will drive to where your car is install a windshield bill your insurance company. Or you can pay them with a prearranged credit card. Easy… After the crack extendes to the edges it has grown as long as it will. Most of the time you have several days to find a good installer and mobil windshield company.

i doubt it will do anything but i think there is some stuff like at a wal mart or some other car place that stops it from cracking more.. i have a crack the whole way across the window of my acura integra and i have drove with it like that for a long time and it doesn’t do anything.

it wont completely shatter any time soon. the legs might get longer, but this process takes a long time. but its a good idea to get it fixed when you can. but dont worry about driving the car.

Windshields were designed to be shatter resistant but it would be a good idea to get it replaced as soon as you can afford it.

if its not on the drivers side ,and obstructing the view of the driver you can drive it a little while like this,but if cracks and comes across in front of you,they will give you a ticket if they see it,it will eventually finish cracking all the way,heat will make it crack more also ,so if it sets directly in the sun,with the windows up,it will crack more,you can drive it,if you get pulled over tell them you have an appointment to get it repaired,they,ll understand,good luck with it hope this helps.

doubt full that it will ever shatter…..but it is against the law to drive with a cracked windshield…..go to the ” glass place”…as soon as possible…..it can be repaired if caught in time…..before it spider web,s all over……generally….if the damage is the size of quarter…..it can still be repaired….if much larger….you may need a new one….good luck!

I bought a new car in March 1989. In April, a mine truck threw up a rock and cracked my windshield. I’ve got 150,000 miles on it now. The crack gradually grows, but never has been a problem. Don’t worry, get it fixed when you can.

It’s o.k. to drive for a while. The safety glass in the windshield has several plastic layers and it isn’t going to pop loose and land in your lap. As the others have said, the spider legs will continue to grow. Eventually the danger will be the view from the driver’s seat becoming obstructed. Also, if you have mandatory safety inspections in your area, it probably won’t pass. It will likely cost you $200-$500 for a replacement windshield. Check with your insurance company, as glass hits are covered in some areas. Good Luck!!
