Can you put a glass in the microwave to heat milk?
I went to put a glass in the microwave the other day and my husband stopped me saying that you can’t put glass in a microwave as the glass will explode. I find it hard to believe that in 7 years of owning a microwave I have never put a glass in there so I am thinking I must of in the past but it didn’t explode. Does anyone know the right answer?

of course you can. it`s forbidden to put metal…but you can still use plastic or glass!

If the glass has gold or silver ornamentation, is made of lead crystal, or is extremely fragile, it is at risk of breaking. Otherwise, glass is by far the best material for microwave use, since it is inert, and won’t leach chemicals into your food.

In certain geographical areas in the world, the word ‘glass’ is used to denote any small drinking vessel. So be careful. As someone here said, metal is not allowed. So ‘metallic glass’ is not allowed, ‘glass glass’ is ok (!!)
