sure you can, just line the botton with greased wax paper and then grease the sides of the tray with butter or cooking spray. it should work as well as the tin.

Just spray it with cooking spray, beforehand. If you don’t have that, butter will work…

You dont even need to line it in wax paper. Just put a small coating of grease on the bottom (i.e. butter, spray on grease, etc) and then pour in the cake mix. Just take of like 4 or 5 minutes of the cook time. ^_^ Be sure to check your cake often =P Stick a butterknife into the center and if it comes out clean then your cake is done ^_^

Yes, grease and flour the tray as you would a metal baking pan, then pour in the mixture. Be aware that the baking time will not be the same and you should test the cake with a wooden tooth pick before removing from oven. Stick the tooth pick in the center of the cake and if it comes out with uncooked batter the cake is not done. If it comes out clean, your cake is ready to be removed and placed on cooling rack. Allow to cool for a few minutes before turning it out of baking dish, so it does not fall apart.

Yes you can.You can use baking spray to coat pan but old fashioned crisco and flour work the same. You may also use some of the dry cake mix to dust your pan and you will not have that white on your cake. It has been my experience to lower the baking degrees by 25 so that the cake does not burn on sides.

You can NOT bake in just any glass tray. Make sure it’s oven (heat) proof glass. Fire King, Anchor Hocking and Pyrex all make heat proof glass cooking and bakeware.
If you use a glass tray that’s not oven proof, you’ll have a huge mess in your oven when it breaks. My neighbor found out the hard way when she put a pretty glass tray of cookies in her oven to keep them warm. She had the temperature set real low, but the tray shattered after a few minutes.
Not all glass is heat proof!

As long as it’s a glass baking dish, you’re okay. Glass trays might be too thin. As for baking it.. just use a non stick spray like Pam, or do it the old fashioned way with butter and flour. You need to reduce your temperature by 25 degrees so your cake doesn’t burn.

Thank you all for the advice about baking in glassware. I needed to know what hear adjustment I needed to bake the orange cake. I just squeezed eight oranges and could not bring myself to discard the “meat”. Again thank you all for helping me to recycle (:-).
