Can a pregnant woman drink a small glass of wine?
I know you are supposed to avoid alcoholic beverages, but I thought I heard somewhere that it was o.k. to occasionally consume a small glass of wine. I’m not a drinker, but have been craving the taste.

My doctor told me a small galss of red wine with dinner was fine, but ask your doctor before going ahead. We have no idea about your health here. Make sure all is normal first.

A SINGLE glass, with a meal, will be OK and may even do some good. Women in France and Spain have small amounts of wine as parts of their meals when they’re pregnant.
The problem is that most people cannot have a single glass, and will keep drinking. This is why the standard advise is not to drink at all.

Yes, a small amount with food NOT EVERY DAY is acceptable. Smoking proves to be much more harmful than a small amount of alcohol.

I think its best that you ask a health specialist that. Only they can truly tell you whats acceptable and whats not during pregnancy because the last thing you need is complications. Its best so you can sure you have a healthy child and smooth pregnancy.

No, it is not OK. A little alcohol for you is all right, but it’s a lot for your baby to handle.

when i was pregnant i asked my doctor and he said that i small glass every once and a while would be fine. they say that it will just calm the baby down. so you might not feel it move a whole lot. but yes you can have a small glass just dont over do it.

A small glass of wine with your dinner is ideal (pregnant or not)esp. a glass of red wine. relaxes and reduces stress levels and helps lower blood pressure. helps you to fall asleep sooner too. A small glass is not much but the trick is to have one glass and that`s it. No more than that.
