Are these glass bottles for homemade wine?
I moved into a new place and the previous owner left behind 4 large (18.5lt) clear glass jugs. They are heavy and someone put them in the rafters. I have to take them down and get rid of them but I don’t know what to do with the things.
I think they might be for making homemade wine but I am not sure. Does anyone have any ideas about their usefulness and where I should take them? I can’t just recycle them because they are passed are weight limit. If I can make some money all the better.
Thanks for all your help.

Advert in local shop windows or papers. Carboys could have been used to hols anything but that does not stop them from being used for wine making. You could always put a garden in them and keep them or sell them that way. If I lived near you I would buy them.

No one will be interested in buying used carboys on ebay. The cost of shipping them will be more than they are worth.
Post an ad on craigslist.com, or on rec.crafts.brewing and saying you’re giving them away, first come first serve.
